What you can see here is a typical 1920s and 1930s style of buildings. Atleast typical to Helsinki when we are talking about a block of flats.
On the left side you can see a small part of the unique block designed by the famous Finnish architecht Lars Sock. You can see a better view of the whole block on our location page.
The name of the street: "Museokatu", is a compound word (museo + katu). The straight translation is: "Museumstreet", and it comes from the fact that the street begins from The National Museum of Finland. If you watch the image carefully, you may find the peak of its tower on the horizon.
This short part of the street is protected by The National Board of Antiquities. Hence for example no asphalt but stone pavement.
